Bubbler Magic!

Author: Ninja "The Bong Collector"

Here we feature some of the latest creations and masterpieces by a few of today’s top artists.

On the cover of this month’s issue are a trio bubblers commissioned by Glass Aficionado and created by Pakoh.

First are two magnificent standup bubblers each rising about 11 inches tall with 18mm Glass on glass joints for a perfect seal.

Each has a built in diffuser and amazingly intricate design work sandblasted onto the pieces.

The third is a doubler, standing a little over 12 inches tall with two diffusers and 14mm glass on glass joint.

These bubblers are an incredible blend of new and old, with a heavy dash of  Pakoh thrown in to make it all mesh.

True aficionado bubblers for today’s glass aficionado.

You can see more of Pakoh’s incredible artwork at www.thataintart.com.

Next up is a pair of bubblers by Freeek.

The first is an incredible doubler that stands a stout 12 inches tall with a worked section and sharp horns, as well as one of Freeek’s signature fumed brain marbles.

The main can on this piece actually started out as a section for a tube, but that didn't work out.

Of course Freeek wasn't going to let that beautiful worked section sit around too long collecting dust, so soon after it became center stage for what is now a brilliant example of a classy dub-bub.

Madglass, an administrator here at Glass Aficionado, was lucky enough to watch this piece come to life. He also managed to acquire it for his own personal glass collection.

I asked his opinion on the piece and his reply was, "I can't believe how clean all the welds are and how straight everything sits for how big this piece is. Usually, if you set a big piece on the table and walk around it,  it's off center or crooked from certain angles. Not this piece. It's perfect in every way...that's rare! Oh, and notice the left handed snorkel carb? I happen to be a lefty, so it found the perfect home and I found the perfect doubler."

We should also add that  this double diffused beast has a matching dry mate which is signed by Freeek.

The next Freeek piece strikes fear in the hearts of the timid.

This 11 inch 18mm glass on glass bubbler has an original TC milli by Erik Anders on the slide, and a Freeek fumed Toke City murrine marble on the can.

The 14mm slide fits in the bushing diffuser which removes all chug.

Organic and menacing, this thing has teeth.

Freeek is listed as one of the top 10 artists on Glass Pipes Org. You can see more of his work here: Freeek's Gallery

Next is a custom can bubbler by kennaroo.

This piece has a 14mm snapper slide with an original Erik Anders TC milli.

The bubbler stands a little over 8 inches tall and has a black and purple kennaroo frog holding a galaxy marble on the rear of the can

This bubbler has a matching nug jar, and is truly a one of a kind piece.

The second Kennaroo piece is a mushroom sculpture bubbler with one of his amazingly lifelike frogs.

This bubbler has a ladybug to hide the mouthpiece, and a snail to hide the blow push.

This piece could rest on a shelf and no one would ever know it’s a functional bubbler.

You can check out more of his work here: Kennaroo's Gallery

Next up is an incredible piece by Tormino.

This elaborate worked masterpiece  features amazing artwork and a detailed facet.

The side snorkel carb clears the chamber smoothly and the stemless design is spill proof when laid to rest.

This is a piece one can gaze into and lose track of time quickly.

Look for more Tormino work in future issues of Glass Aficionado.

Next is a Glass on glass honeycomb bubbler by Morgan from Honalee glass.

This beefy piece features a 14mm glass on glass joint and internal down stem.

Morgan is a featured artist in this months issue and we hope to see more of his amazing work in the future.

These incredible pieces are a beauty to behold as well as to use.

They blend form and function with artistic style and vision, bringing joy to anyone lucky enough to hold one of these glass masterpieces in person.
